Job summary

VHB’s North Carolina team seeks a Senior Project Manager – Highway Design to lead complex transportation projects for federal, state, and local clients from our Charlotte office.

The role requires extensive project management, leadership of a multidisciplinary team, and deep knowledge of highway design, regulations, and delivery. VHB offers a hybrid work environment with a strong Total Rewards package and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or similar; M.S. preferred.
• 11–15+ years in professional transportation engineering, NC market experience required.
• NC PE license is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Senior Project Manager for federal, state, and local clients.
• Develop and manage client relationships.
• Manage staff and provide technical and professional development of staff.
• Assist with strategy for expansion of transportation services in North Carolina.
• Monitor project financial performance.
• Lead meetings with clients, agencies and stakeholders to discuss design and permitting issues.
• Deliver transportation design projects from feasibility to PS&E.
