Job summary

Clark Dietz Inc. is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our Lexington, KY team. The role focuses on planning and designing transportation projects for municipal and county clients, including roadways, trails, signals, and drainage.

Based in Lexington with flexible work-from-home options and designated office days, you will perform design calculations, QA/QC, and client coordination while guiding engineers and technicians to deliver high-quality projects on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Kentucky is required.
8+ years of experience as a Project Engineer focused on transportation projects.

Responsibilities

Leads the planning and design of roadway and trail improvement projects throughout Kentucky.
Assists with developing proposals, including project approach, scope, schedule, and budget.
Performs design calculations for roadway and trail alignments, geometrics, hydraulics and MOT.
Oversees and reviews quantity calculations and construction cost estimates.
Coordinates project workflow, assigns tasks and provides guidance to engineers and technicians.
Implements QA/QC procedures to ensure high-quality deliverables and bid documents.
Builds and maintains strong client relationships and pursues new project opportunities.
