Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation seeks a Transportation Construction Technician to perform a broad scope of high-level transportation duties and supervise journey-level work on highway construction projects. Positions will be assigned based on experience and listed qualifications.

Entry, intermediate, and senior levels exist with corresponding hourly rates and grades. A strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and documentation is required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of construction experience or as required by area needs.
• Experience reading construction plans, specifications and standard drawings.
• Knowledge of materials testing and field sampling.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and job site procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform journey-level duties related to highway construction activities.
• Inspect work for compliance with standards and plans.
• Document tests, measurements, and transmittals.
• Assist engineers and attend safety and partnering meetings.
