Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation in Flagstaff is hiring a Transportation Construction Technician 4 to inspect highway projects, oversee material testing, and mentor junior inspectors under the supervision of the resident engineer.

You will review submittals, manage field documentation, and assist with implementing the Arizona Management System; driving a state vehicle is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in highway construction inspection, survey, materials testing and documentation.
• Knowledge of state/federal standards and procedures.
• Advanced mathematics and ability to operate related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect contract items to ensure compliance with standards and specs.
• Prepare field documentation and verify field calculations for FAST input.
• Perform lab tests and review contractor work and project records.
