Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Construction Manager to lead large, complex transportation construction projects with values exceeding $500M. The role requires PE licensure and a civil engineering background, with 15 years of transit project experience and 4–5 years in technical delivery, including APD.

The position emphasizes mentoring staff, coordinating across disciplines, and managing bid and preconstruction activities. Primary location is Seattle/Bellevue, WA with full-time schedule and no travel.

Qualifications

• PE licensure is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field is required.
• Minimum 15 years of experience on large, complex transit projects (> $500M).
• Minimum 4–5 years executing technical aspects of medium to complex projects including APD.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of large, complex construction projects as client liaison and team lead.
• Mentor staff and document lessons learned during construction management.
• Coordinate with HR on recruitment and employment offers.
• Review design-phase constructability and sequencing reviews; manage bid phase activities.
• Direct preconstruction planning and review contract documents for construction readiness.
• Manage multiple large projects concurrently and ensure schedule, budget, and quality compliance.
• Represent the company in meetings with clients, agencies, and stakeholders.
• Monitor contractor schedules and address delays; review RFIs, submittals, and pay applications.
