Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Transportation in Winona is seeking a Construction Inspector to support project delivery on roadway and bridge work. You will assist the Chief Inspector, perform complex inspections, and ensure materials meet MnDOT specifications.

Qualifications

• Valid Class D driver's license; must obtain Class B CDL with Endorsements within 6 months.
• Subject to drug testing and pre-placement drug test.
• Must be registered in FMCSA Clearinghouse.
• Two years of experience in contract administration or related areas; substitutions allowed.

Responsibilities

• Assist Chief Inspector on complex projects.
• Perform field testing of grading, base, bituminous, and concrete.
• Inspect roadway features for conformance to plans/specifications.
• Document pay items and test results per MnDOT requirements.
• Enforce contract procedures on projects; provide guidance on enforcement.
• Monitor contractor safety and traffic control practices.
