Minnesota DOT is seeking an Inspector to assist the Chief Inspector on complex projects and to oversee inspection activities on roadway and bridge work. The role includes field testing of materials, verification against MnDOT specifications, and reporting deficiencies to ensure compliance with project documents.
The position requires driving credentials (Class D and CDL with Air Brake Restriction and Tanker Endorsement within 6 months) and experience in contract administration or related areas.
This position assists the Chief Inspector on a significant portion of complex projects by completing complex inspection activities to ensure successful completion of projects. Other duties include:
Must possess a valid Class D driver’s license or an equivalent license from another state and obtain a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with no Air Brake Restriction and Tanker Endorsement within 6-months of initial placement into the position and maintain them as a condition of employment.
Educational Substitution:A two-year Civil or Construction Technology Degree, or a four-year degree in Architectural, Civil or Mechanical Engineering; Land Surveying / Geomatics; or equivalent may substitute for one year of experience.
