Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• 3-4 years professional nursing experience required.
• 1-2 years transplant outpatient or dialysis experience preferred.
• DC RN state licensure required.
• CPR certification for healthcare providers required within 90 days.
• CCTC certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care for transplant patients in inpatient/outpatient settings.
• Assists with patient assessment, teaching, discharge planning and telephone triage.
• Coordinates pre- and post-transplant patient management with multidisciplinary team.
• Interacts with UNOS to maintain patient waiting list and communicates with transplant team.
• Dispenses medications and administers prescribed therapies as directed.
• Maintains patient records, reviews test results and discusses potential complications.
• Performs telephone triage and educates patients and families about procedures and health maintenance.
