Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is seeking an Engineer III/Senior Engineer for the Substation Engineering team stationed at the DEP headquarters in downtown Raleigh, NC. You will design high voltage substations (13kV-500kV) and provide project-level support from concept to release packages.

The role requires ABET-accredited engineering degree, PE, and 4–6+ years of experience. Travel 15–25% and a hybrid work arrangement after onboarding are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• PE registration or ability to obtain PE.
• Master's degree may substitute for BS in Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Designs transmission substation facilities considering environmental, land use, engineering and economic factors.
• Provide construction support and on-site design review.
• Collaborate with project team to meet schedules and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE, NEC, NESC and other standards.
