Job summary

Turner & Townsend in San Francisco seeks an experienced Transmission Project Manager to lead end-to-end capital projects, from planning through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. You will manage schedules, budgets, risks, and stakeholder communications while guiding cross-functional teams across engineering, permitting, construction, and operations.

The role requires strong leadership and deep utility sector knowledge for delivering projects on time and within budget

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience managing utility, transmission, energy infrastructure, or large-scale capital projects.
• Proven experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, and risk management processes.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of transmission projects, including planning, engineering, procurement, construction, and closeout activities.
• Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, budgets, and resource plans.
• Coordinate with engineering, environmental, permitting, construction, and operations teams to ensure project success.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, leadership teams, customers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while proactively resolving issues that may impact project objectives.
• Monitor project performance and provide regular status updates, forecasts, and executive-level reporting.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Manage contractor and vendor performance to ensure quality, cost control, and schedule adherence.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices in project delivery.
• Support strategic planning efforts and contribute to the development of transmission infrastructure programs.
• SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
• On-site presence and requirements may change depending on our client's needs.
