Job summary

HDR Engineering is seeking a Transmission Project Manager/Team Lead to join our growing team in Billings, MT. You will manage high voltage transmission projects, lead a local team, and drive business development with clients in the region.

You will supervise staff, coordinate with marketing and leadership, and ensure quality across project lifecycles. Bachelor's degree required; FE/PE licenses preferred; 7+ years of experience expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience with at least 2 years in project management.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are essential.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing client relationships.
• Active participation in an employee-owned culture is expected.
• FE/PE licenses are preferred for the project leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Manage transmission projects across their full life cycle.
• Lead project team and supervise staff to deliver on scope and budget.
• Apply project management tools: life cycle, scope, schedule, budget, risk.
• Coordinate with marketing for business development and client relationships.
• Develop hiring plans to grow a local transmission team.
• Oversee non-engineering aspects: permitting, ROW, and construction oversight.
• Ensure QA/QC and mentor junior staff and engineers.
