Job summary

EDG is seeking a Construction Engineer to lead capital project execution from definition through commissioning. The CE will participate in scope development, cost estimates, schedules, onsite visits, and coordination with utility accounts.

Responsibilities include creating detailed construction plans, outage planning, bid packages, vendor reviews, safety and compliance monitoring, and final closeout documentation. A strong engineering background and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Ten or more years of applicable experience in construction of capital projects.
• Superior interpersonal, leadership, communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite (Word and Excel).

Responsibilities

• Manage capital projects through entire life cycle from Definition to Closeout.
• Develop project scope, cost estimates, and schedules as part of project teams.
• Conduct on-site field/scope visits and coordinate outages.
• Develop detailed construction plans and identify outages and permits.
• Develop bid packages and participate in vendor selection.
• Prepare pre-bid meetings and conduct constructability reviews across disciplines.
• Develop construction plan with outages, dates, and resource requirements.
• Monitor safety, schedule, cost, and regulatory compliance; perform QA checks.
• Closeout construction contracts and as-built documentation; ensure regulatory procedures are followed.
