Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Transmission Production Cost Modeling Analyst in Denver to support long-range planning and regulatory filings. The role focuses on building and validating production cost models for electric transmission, and developing testimony for regulatory proceedings.

The position requires a strong background in energy markets, quantitative analysis, and experience with PROMOD. A hybrid work model is available with onsite presence part of the week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in systems, electrical engineering, economics, math, physics, quantitative analysis, business or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of experience analyzing transmission systems; 5 years in wholesale energy markets using financial tools/production simulation software.
• Advanced quantitative analysis skills and extensive knowledge of the required systems and software.

Responsibilities

• Develop energy market forecasts for electric transmission development to support long-range plans and regulatory filings.
• Develop direct testimony for regulatory proceedings.
• Provide responses to regulatory information requests regarding wholesale energy market-based plans and modeling.
• Perform independent analyses to support regulatory reviews of the transmission system.
• Maintain input data for the transmission production cost model.
• Optimize programs to post-process outputs and develop visualizations for partners.
