Job summary

AECOM has an exciting Senior Transmission Line Permitting Specialist opportunity in Texas, with a hybrid setup based in Houston, Dallas, or Austin. You will lead environmental planning and permitting for energy projects, coordinating NEPA documents and regulatory outreach to support siting and approvals.

You will develop client relationships, lead pursuits, and expand AECOM’s energy permitting portfolio in the region while mentoring teams and delivering high‑quality technical work across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning or related field.
• 6 years of relevant experience in electric transmission and renewable energy.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental planning and compliance for energy infrastructure projects, including NEPA documentation and studies.
• Coordinate with state utility regulatory agencies (PUCs/PSCs) and PUCT for siting, routing, and permitting approvals.
• Manage early‑stage due diligence for siting energy projects and related infrastructure.
• Provide project management on mid‑ to large‑sized projects including schedules, budgets, invoicing, and client coordination.
• Mentor personnel and review work for accuracy and clarity.
