Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Mid-level Environmental Planner with a focus on transmission to join the Environmental Planning and Permitting team in the Midwest. The role offers hybrid work options across multiple U.S. offices and opportunities to support energy projects from planning through permitting.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 4 years of experience in electric transmission and renewable energy, with travel flexibility and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental planning, environmental science, geography, natural resources, engineering or related field.
• 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent in electric transmission and renewable energy.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• A valid U.S Driver's license is required for this role.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support environmental planning and compliance for energy infrastructure.
• Coordinate filings with state utility regulatory agencies and commissions to support transmission siting, routing, permitting, and certificate approval.
• Prepare project schedules, budgets, invoicing, and coordinate with clients, technical staff and subconsultants.
• Develop NEPA documentation and entitlements for energy projects.
• Support projects across the Midwest and other U.S. markets via ACEOM's national technical platform.
• Contribute to marketing, proposals, and formulating proposal cost estimates as a seller-doer.
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level staff.
