Job summary

Clearway Energy Group seeks a Senior Analyst to support transmission modeling and market analysis for CAISO/WECC in a hybrid San Diego or San Francisco setting. You will perform SCED studies, assist with energy trading analyses, and update production-cost models while coordinating with external consultants and internal stakeholders.

Candidates should have 3+ years in analytics for renewables or trading, a power-systems focus, and experience with SCED tools such as PROMOD/PLEXOS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
• 3+ years analytical experience in renewable energy, ISO, or energy trading.
• 2+ years power systems, market design, or energy trading experience.
• 2+ years production-cost modeling with SCED tools (PROMOD/PLEXOS/etc).
• Knowledge of CAISO & WECC market fundamentals.
• Familiarity with ISO/RTO operations and state regulations.
• SQL and Python knowledge; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform SCED studies to develop internal views on basis, curtailment, and congestion.
• Support optimization/trading with scenario-based analyses for risk mitigation.
• Analyze market impacts from generation, transmission, retirements; present findings clearly.
• Provide insights into congestion and curtailment for vPPAs and BESS tolls.
• Update production-cost models with market changes and transmission updates.
• Lead engagements with external consultants for independent reports.
• Participate in ISO/RTO/PUC meetings and communicate market developments.
