Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Transmission Lineman to safely support electrical crews by handling materials, assembling and dismantling transmission equipment, and preparing work areas.

You will read maps and diagrams, work on live systems when required, climb poles, operate bucket trucks and digger derricks, and provide leadership in the foreman’s absence while maintaining strict safety practices.

Qualifications

  • 5-6+ years of experience in transmission and/or distribution line work.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL and Crane license a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Ability to operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, and related equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and follow instructions with safety in mind.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with material handling and preparing work areas.
  • Operate bucket trucks and related equipment.
  • Read maps and diagrams and support the foreman.
  • Climb poles to replace components and set structures.
  • Provide leadership in the foreman’s absence and uphold safety practices.
