Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Reading, PA seeks a senior transmission design engineer to design lines from 69kV to 500kV and mentor the design team. You will coordinate work, ensure compliance with standards, and prepare calculations and reports.

The role offers a hybrid office schedule (three days in person, two remote) and a relocation package, with a comprehensive benefits program and potential discretionary bonus.

Qualifications

• BS degree from ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 12+ years of experience in transmission design.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software.
• Experience preparing scopes of work, conceptual designs, and calculations.
• Experience with 69kV–500kV transmission lines and client interaction.
• Knowledge of NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE and ANSI standards.
• Experience reviewing design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 765kV range.
• Mentor and train less experienced design team members.
• Coordinate design activities to meet specs, codes and client requirements.
• Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information clearly.
• Perform independent reviews of work including calculations and models.
• Adhere to Sargent & Lundy processes.
