Job summary

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services, seeks a Transmission Line Engineer in Chicago to design high voltage transmission lines (34.5kV–500kV) and lead projects through design, engineering, and construction phases.

You will work from our Lombard office at 720 East Butterfield Road and report to the Supervising Engineer. A PE license and 5+ years in line design are required; travel and EPC experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 5 years of hands-on transmission line design experience; senior roles require 10+ years.
• Licensed professional engineer with the ability to licensure in multiple states within one year of hire.
• Experience in EPC environments and knowledge of transmission engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Generate cost effective designs for high voltage transmission lines.
• Represent the Engineering department in inter-department meetings.
• Attend meetings with customers to support the Sales department and the engineers.
• Monitor team progress and ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
• Travel on short-term assignments as required.
