Job summary

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services (trading as PWR), is a leading national provider of technical and construction services for critical electric infrastructure. The Transmission Line Engineer role is based in our Chicago, Illinois office at 720 East Butterfield Road, Lombard, IL, reporting to the Supervising Engineer.

Responsibilities include cost-effective HV line design, meetings with customers, inter-department collaboration, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 5 years of hands-on transmission line design experience; senior roles 10+ years.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to licensure in multiple states within one year.
• Experience in EPC environments and cost-effective designs.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Generate cost-effective designs for high voltage transmission lines.
• Represent Engineering in inter-department meetings.
• Attend meetings with customers to support Sales and engineers.
• Monitor progress to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Travel occasionally for assignments.
