Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a Senior Estimator to develop estimates for major projects across the three-state territory, typically over $1M. The role requires identifying risks, collaborating with engineering, procurement, and operations to ensure accurate cost estimates and documentation.

The successful candidate will have strong Excel and estimating system experience, plus a solid background in power transmission planning and project accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project estimating, or equivalent experience; electrical focus preferred.
• Advanced degree in Engineering or MBA desirable.
• 8+ years in technical/operational/estimating/engineering roles in electrical utilities; transmission experience preferred.
• 4+ years in one or more aspects of the job required.

Responsibilities

• Development of estimates for major projects (typically over $1M).
• Support standardization of cost estimating templates across the three-state territory.
• Develop collaboration with disciplined engineering and support services for accurate estimates.
• Identify and quantify project risks and contingency cost impacts.
• Present estimates to management during review processes.
• Use best practices to incorporate direct, indirect, support costs and overheads.
• Support cost estimating tools and documentation updated to project actuals.
• Support QA/QC with stakeholders to improve estimating processes.
