Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Transmission Engineering professional to support the planning, analysis, design, and implementation of high-voltage transmission system projects. You will evaluate system performance, lead technical studies, develop engineering standards, and oversee design and construction with internal teams, regulators, and stakeholders.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, PE license or substantial related experience, and strong knowledge of transmission

Qualifications

Must have PE license or eight years of directly related engineering experience or six years with a postgraduate degree.
Experience with electric power transmission systems and engineering analysis is required.
Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and validate transmission system models for planning and studies.
Conduct steady-state and dynamic analyses to assess network performance.
Lead transmission planning studies to meet ERCOT and NERC requirements.
Participate in ERCOT planning groups and related technical working groups.
Prepare and present business justifications for transmission capital projects.
Provide responses to ERCOT requests and support regional planning initiatives.
Update transmission planning standards and guidelines.
Support development of line design, equipment, and material standards.
Perform engineering calculations for transmission facilities and equipment.
Evaluate load and generation interconnections and their impact on the network.
Review line designs from internal teams or external firms.
Utilize analysis and design software for planning and project development.
