Job summary

Novartis Biomedical Research in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Senior Scientist I/II to bridge exploratory cancer immunology research to early clinical development. The role is hands-on, on-site, and supports targeted-therapy programs in hematologic malignancies and solid tumors, partnering with project scientists to translate hypotheses into robust experiments.

Qualifications

• Advanced hands-on experience with multiparameter or spectral flow cytometry, including panel design, sample prep, instrument operation, acquisition, QC and data analysis.
• Demonstrated experience with primary human cell culture and immune/tumor biology assays, including complex co-cultures and patient-derived material.
• Experience with intracellular cytokine staining and multiplex cytokine assays (e.g., MSD) to quantify pharmacodynamic responses.
• Strong quantitative data-analysis and presentation skills enabling clear, decision-ready figures and reports.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot and optimize multiparameter/spectral flow cytometry and complementary cell-based assays.
• Execute ex vivo studies using human cells and tissues with complex co-cultures.
• Develop readouts for proliferation, viability, apoptosis, differentiation and cytokine signaling.
• Analyze and communicate data with project teams, including limitations and next steps.
