Job summary

Horrocks seeks a Senior Transit Planner or Project Manager to lead transit and multimodal planning efforts across the mountain west. You will manage studies, coordinate with agencies, and deliver technical reports while guiding client relations and business development.

The role requires a bachelor’s in urban planning (master’s preferred), 10+ years of experience, and strong GIS/data/communication skills to inform equity-centered planning and strategic growth. Salary is competitive.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in urban planning or related field; master's preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Lead/client maintenance and business development experience.
• Experience with public transit and public agencies.
• Entrepreneurial spirit; turn ideas into action.
• Experience in GIS, data collection/analysis, spreadsheets, and data visualization.
• Strong technical writing; prepare complex deliverables.
• Able to create visuals for planning documents and presentations.
• Excellent written/spoken communication; collaborate with stakeholders.
• Thrive in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support transit and transportation planning studies.
• Manage projects, client relationships, and growth initiatives.
• Coordinate transit alignment, NEPA/PEL, corridors, and active transportation work.
• Research and implement best planning practices for transit.
• Analyze transportation, land use, equity, and economic data to inform recommendations.
• Prepare technical deliverables and present findings to diverse audiences.
• Support Public Engagement with virtual and in-person outreach.
