Job summary

SEPTA is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (E&C) to support Transit Facilities Capital design and construction projects in the Philadelphia region. The role requires broad engineering knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.

The position manages project elements, leads a small team, and interfaces with managers and external agencies to meet SEPTA's requirements. A PA PE/RA license adds $5,000 salary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering field, or Architecture with 7+ years experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a professional setting.
• Understanding of construction project management techniques.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and project management software.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to work evenings and nights as required.

Responsibilities

• Consult with Project Manager on project scope and feasibility.
• Prepare budgets, schedules, and program plans for proposed projects.
• Prepare RFPs, manage consultant contracts, coordinate design reviews.
• Assist during procurement and construction with coordination across agencies.
• Direct project engineers/architects and supervise staff.
• Ensure resources, budgets, and schedules are maintained.
