Job summary

Los Angeles Metro is seeking an experienced engineer to oversee complex transit projects in LA County. You will review submittals, ensure compliance with Metro standards, and guide design and construction efforts for bus and rail facilities.

Requirements: Bachelor's in Engineering (Master's preferred); six years of relevant experience or three years in a supervisory role; California PE registration desirable and a valid CA driver's license; MS Word/Excel proficiency preferred.

Qualifications

Six years relevant experience or 3 years in a supervisory role in engineering.
CA Professional Engineer registration desirable; CA driver license; Word/Excel 2010 skills preferred.

Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and manages engineering projects within budget and schedule.
Interacts with user departments to determine functional requirements for projects.
Provides design support during construction and oversees bid/award phase, construction management, and startup activities.
Reviews contract documents, shop drawings, RFIs, and DDR for compliance with codes and criteria.
Guides, coaches, and oversees staff in area of expertise.
