Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or related field; Master's Degree in a related field preferred.
• Three years of relevant engineering experience performing engineering work in appropriate discipline; some positions in this class may require specialized experience in area of assignment.
• State of California registration as a Professional Engineer in the appropriate discipline desirable; valid California Class C Driver License or equivalent transportation required; FCC license as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepares workplans, drawings, safety guidelines, maintenance requirements, training requirements, specifications, estimates, and operational needs within Metro's standards and requirements.
• Reviews and analyzes data, specifications, drawings, and blueprints, then makes changes or recommendations; negotiates changes with vendors.
• Coordinates with technical consultants to review technical drawings and documents.
• Coordinates projects for design, construction, and modification of Metro facilities with internal staff and outside contractors.
• Oversees contractor/consultant work for schedule and budget compliance; reviews new rules, regulations, and codes.
• Prepares technical reports, feasibility studies, economic analyses, and correspondence; performs inspections on completed work.
