Job summary

Hyosung HICO is seeking a Senior Winder to set up and operate winding machines for power transformers at our Memphis, TN facility. You will advise engineering and manufacturing on process details and help troubleshoot quality issues in manufacturing.

The role requires advanced mechanical skills, reading drawings, and hands-on ability with measuring tools and precision equipment. Safety, TPM, and 6S are emphasized across daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent, plus four years’ prior manufacturing or manufacturing experience, or equivalent education, training and experience.
• Advanced mechanical/technical and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience reading manufacturing drawings/specifications, prints or work instructions.
• Developed math and geometry skills.
• Knowledge and use of basic industrial measuring tools.
• Developed skills in the proper use of various hand and power tools.
• Basic computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products and understanding of computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture of all coil types including layer, helical, disc, shielded disc, cyli-heli, pozarisky, and interleaved.
• Setup and operate drying oven.
• Setup and operate complicated machines and equipment with rigid tolerances.
• Troubleshoot problems with material/parts, prints, equipment or product and aid in corrective actions.
• Ensure quality criteria are inspected, verified and documented to meet specs and customer orders.
• Follow standard work procedures and maintain manufacturing quality and productivity.
• Perform TPM and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Practice 6S and comply with safety rules.
• Operate lifting equipment like overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Assist in training of new employees and develop training materials.
• Support other manufacturing areas and implement corrective actions as needed.
