Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Senior Associate in Transformation Services within its PEPI practice in Birmingham, AL. You will support large client engagements, design and implement cost-reduction programs, and drive EBITDA improvements for portfolio companies.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and 4–7 years of relevant consulting or industry experience, with knowledge of industry verticals considered a plus. The role offers healthcare, 401(k), PTO, and other benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree required; 4 years of professional industry or consulting experience in operating-expense cost-reduction programs.
• Deep knowledge of an industry vertical (e.g., industrial, business services, distribution, consumer products, retail) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Structure and manage performance-improvement plans through to completion.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities by redesigning organizational structures, staffing, and back-office processes.
• Integrate data insights to enhance EBITDA and operating efficiency.
• Implement cost-reduction initiatives, including workforce changes and process improvements.
• Make strategic recommendations based on findings.
• Lead projects in at least two areas such as margin management, pricing, or SG&A/cash-management.
