Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Transactions, to support the Business Development and Acquisitions team. You will draft and negotiate mergers, licenses, and collaborations, provide strategic legal advice, and lead due diligence with a cross-functional client base.

You will regularly negotiate sophisticated agreements and oversee outside counsel while staying abreast of antitrust and IP issues across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• J.D. with bar licensure in good standing.
• Extensive transactional and industry experience.
• Experience advising on complex pharmaceutical licenses and collaborations.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate complex M&A, licenses, and collaboration agreements.
• Provide clear legal advice to AbbVie’s Business Development and acquisitions teams.
• Manage due diligence and coordinate with cross-functional clients.
• Supervise outside counsel and ensure policy compliance.
• Advise on antitrust, IP, and regulatory considerations across jurisdictions.
