Job summary

The Judicial Council of California is seeking an experienced transactional attorney to join the Legal Services Office. The role focuses on contract and business transactions, procurement, facilities contracts, and IP licensing.

Qualifications

• Juris doctor and three years of post-bar legal experience as a practicing attorney.
• Active California State Bar membership prior to hire.
• Experience handling transactional matters for public-sector clients is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on contract and business transactional issues, including procurement and IP.
• Draft and review documents and resolve non-litigated contractual disputes.
• Revise the Judicial Branch Contracting Manual and advise on risk allocation.
• Assist in selecting outside counsel and reviewing billings for compliance.
• Collaborate with clients to support court and government operations.
• Work independently in a collegial, collaborative environment.
