Job summary

Team Rubicon is seeking a Senior Associate, Training (Advanced Skills) to lead Sawyer, Route Clearance, and Roof Tarping training programs across East and West branches. This role supports disaster response capabilities by guiding curricula and instructor methodologies for advanced skills.

You will coordinate with the training team to forecast program needs, recruit and develop instructors, and supervise volunteers and staff. Expect frequent travel for complex training events.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in military, non-profit, or emergency management settings.
• Skilled group facilitator with ability to balance patience and command.
• Proven record recruiting, managing, training and developing volunteers.
• Strong project management: planning, timelines, resources, and teams.
• Experience communicating with a large network of staff and volunteers.
• Past leadership of volunteers is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Execute training strategy across East & West branches to improve readiness.
• Recruit, hire, develop and supervise instructor cadre (sawyer, route clearance, roof tarping).
• Forecast program needs with program design and learning teams.
• Coordinate with management on incident resolution and investigations.
• Develop standards, policies, and processes for response operations.
• Support complex training deployments and on-site events.
• Build and manage a yearly roster of deployable personnel.
