Job summary

Metra is seeking an experienced professional to lead the Safety and Environmental Compliance Department's training and rule examinations. You will supervise training staff, manage budgets, and ensure adherence to GCOR, MOW rules, and FRA regulations while coordinating annual qualifications and audits.

You will train employees across departments, interpret operating rules, and prepare KPI reports for senior management. Strong communication and travel readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in operations/program admin
• 6+ years in compliance, program admin, or operations (trainer/instructor preferred)
• 3+ years supervisory experience with staff management
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to railroad rules (FRA/GCOR)
• Ability to travel within and outside Metra's region

Responsibilities

• Supervise and audit staff delivering training programs and rules examinations
• Monitor and maintain training resources budget and materials
• Schedule training and qualification classes, including retest procedures
• Ensure compliance with operating rules and safety regulations and document findings in KPI reports
• Provide subject matter expertise to train employees and external counterparts
