Job summary

TEN (Transportation Equipment Network) is seeking an Experienced Trailer Technician to diagnose, maintain and repair a wide range of trailers including dry vans, reefers, and flatbeds at our New Jersey shop. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and ensure DOT compliance while handling heavy components.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on repair experience, and the ability to use diagnostic and welding tools.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Trailer Technician or similar role
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on trailer repair experience
• Knowledge of brake systems, suspension, hydraulics, electrical systems and DOT requirements
• Ability to use diagnostic equipment and welding/fabrication tools
• Ability to lift, move, and work with heavy trailer components
• Commitment to safe work environment and regulatory compliance

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural issues on trailers
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) and routine trailer servicing
• Repair or replace brake systems, suspensions, axles, landing gear, and wheel-end components
• Troubleshoot and repair lighting systems, wiring, and electrical components
• Complete frame, body, and structural repairs, including welding and fabrication
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure all work meets regulatory and company standards
• Use diagnostic tools and repair manuals to identify issues
• Document all repairs and maintain accurate work orders
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment
• Communicate repair needs with supervisors and team members
