Qualifications

• Completion of two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering or a job related technical/science curriculum with five years of engineering experience; OR seven years of engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains traffic signals, flasher, highway lighting, and related electrical devices per state and federal standards.
• Reviews timing of traffic signal controllers and coordinated systems to optimize traffic flow.
• Supervises maintenance contracts for traffic signals and highway lighting; reviews and approves invoices from municipalities.
• Administers contract maintenance for traffic signal and lighting systems across the district to ensure proper timing sequences.
• Inspects traffic signals equipment used in highway construction projects for compliance with MUUTCD standards.
• Keeps abreast of developments in traffic signal technology and related areas to leverage updates.
• Performs duties in compliance with safety rules and supports fair treatment of employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
