Job summary

The position requires knowledge of traffic engineering concepts, MUTCD, and FDOT standards, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma with 4 years of engineering/traffic studies/traffic safety experience, or an associate degree with 2 years, or a bachelor’s degree with 1 year in related field; FE exam and EIT or IMSA certification are also acceptable.
• Knowledge of traffic engineering concepts, MUTCD, and FDOT standards; ability to collect and analyze traffic data.
• Skills include problem solving, communication, and proficiency with engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Review traffic conditions and field locations to identify safety and traffic flow issues.
• Develop data-based solutions and engineer reports to implement improvements.
• Coordinate with internal staff and external agencies to ensure projects are carried out smoothly.
• Review plans and provide technical comments based on traffic engineering standards.
