Job summary

Florida Department of Transportation in District Six is seeking a Traffic Specialist IV to support traffic operations and safety initiatives. You will review traffic conditions, visit field locations, and develop data-based solutions while coordinating with local agencies and the public to implement improvements.

The role requires knowledge of traffic engineering, MUTCD standards, and contract oversight, with annual salary in the posted range.

Qualifications

Four years of engineering, traffic studies, or traffic safety experience with a High School diploma.
An associate degree in engineering tech or similar with relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with at least one year of experience.
F.E. exam success and EIT certification or IMSA certification.

Responsibilities

Perform engineering review and analysis, develop reports and documents, and identify safety/operational deficiencies.
Coordinate with Department staff and external agencies; ensure resource availability for remedial action.
Assist in developing and managing professional and contractual services contracts and RFP documents.
Provide review comments on plan submittals and communicate technical feedback to project teams.
Participate in meetings with internal/external stakeholders to represent Traffic Operations interests.
