LVI Associates seeks a Principal Traffic Engineer to lead complex transportation projects across Southern California from its San Diego presence. You will mentor staff, expand client relationships, and guide project delivery with a focus on ownership potential.

The role requires a track record in leadership, traffic engineering, and client service, with responsibilities spanning contracts, budgets, and strategic growth for the practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• California PE or TE registration preferred.
• 7+ years in traffic engineering or transportation planning.
• 5+ years leadership and staff management experience.
• Experience supervising multidisciplinary traffic projects.
• Strong budgets, schedules, and client relations management.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage traffic engineering and transportation planning projects across Southern California.
• Supervise engineers, planners, CAD staff and design personnel.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, scopes, and client expectations.
• Prepare contracts, proposals, and scopes of work; advise public/private clients.
• Direct development of traffic signal, traffic control, signing and striping plans; TIAs and studies.
• Provide municipal traffic engineering services and maintain agency relationships.
• Mentor junior staff and support business development and market growth.
