Job summary

STV Incorporated is seeking a senior-level traffic engineer to lead planning, design and delivery of traffic engineering projects and ITS initiatives. You will conduct analyses, develop PS&E, generate technical reports, and mentor junior staff while ensuring compliance with MUTCD, AASHTO, FHWA and local standards.

The role emphasizes client-facing project management, business development, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams in Columbia and North Charleston, SC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• PE license with SC licensure or ability to obtain by comity.
• 10+ years of relevant traffic engineering experience.
• Experience in traffic signal design, timing, illumination and safety analyses.
• Proficiency with traffic software and CAD tools listed above.
• Ability to manage scope, schedule, budget and deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, analysis, design and delivery of traffic engineering projects.
• Lead studies: traffic impact analyses, signal timing, simulations and capacity analyses.
• Develop PS&E for state and local agencies.
• Prepare technical reports and project documentation.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, staffing and delivery.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor staff.
• Review analyses and designs for technical accuracy and compliance.
• Support business development and client relationships.
• Prepare proposals, scopes of work and fee estimates.
