Job summary

STV Incorporated in Hartford, CT seeks a Senior Traffic Engineer with extensive experience in traffic engineering studies, signal design, and transportation planning. You will perform traffic signal design for CTDOT and municipalities, review submittals, and conduct traffic simulations using VISSIM, Synchro, and SimTraffic.

Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and public meetings are part of the role.

Qualifications

• BSCE degree or equivalent with 10–15+ years of experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; PTOE preferred.
• Experience with CTDOT and CT municipalities; other agencies considered.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, AutoTurn desirable.
• Thorough knowledge of HCS, VISSIM, Synchro, SimTraffic software.
• Experience in traffic safety, crash data analysis, and countermeasure development.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage scope, schedule and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic engineering studies and designs.
• Design traffic signals for CTDOT/municipal projects and review submittals.
• Conduct traffic simulation and operational analyses.
• Prepare traffic impact studies and environmental interfaces.
• Coordinate with DOT and local agencies; participate in public meetings.
• Support proposals and business development activities.
