Job summary

STV, Inc. in Hartford, CT seeks an experienced Traffic Engineer to join our transportation team. You will perform traffic studies, design signals, and contribute to roadway projects with CTDOT and municipalities.

Responsibilities include traffic engineering studies, signal timing, design, and coordination with agencies; proficiency in VISSIM, Synchro, OpenRoads, MicroStation, and AutoCAD is desired. PE is required; PTOE desirable; strong safety focus.

Qualifications

• BSCE degree with 5–10 years of experience.
• PE required; PTOE is desirable.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and AutoTurn.
• Familiarity with HCS, VISSIM, Synchro/SimTraffic.
• Experience with traffic safety, crash data analysis, and development of countermeasures.
• Experience meeting scope, schedules, and budgets on transportation projects.

Traffic Engineer

STV, a nationally recognized leader for delivering value and excellence inengineering, construction management,architecture, planning and environmental services, is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineerto join our growing transportation engineering team in our Hartford, CT office.

Responsibilities

• Perform Traffic Engineering Studies and Designs
• Traffic signal design for CTDOT/CT Municipalities, including electrical equipment and timings.
• Transportation engineering and traffic planning studies.
• Traffic simulation analysis using VISSIM and Synchro, SimTraffic software, and operational analysis using HCS.
• Writes and reviewstraffic impact studies and analysis reports.
• Works with multi-disciplinary teams and provide traffic inputs for environmental studies and roadway design elements such as roadway signing, pavement marking, and MPT plans, Design Approval Documents, and/or traffic signal operation analyses.
• Coordinate with DOT and local agencies.
• Assists in public information meetings.
• Support the preparation of technical proposals, and business development activities.

Requirements

• BSCE degree with a minimum of5-10years of experience.
• PE required; PTOE is desirable.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and AutoTurn is desirable.
• Thorough understanding of HCS, VISSIM, Synchro/Sim Traffic software is desired.
• Experience related to traffic safety (vehicle, pedestrian, and bicycle), roadside/intersection safety, accessibility, crash data analysis and development of crash countermeasures.
• Successful experience meeting scope, schedules, and budgets on transportation projects/studies.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Compensation Range:

$130,962.60 - $149,671.54
