Job summary

STV is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join the Hartford, CT team. The role focuses on traffic engineering studies, signal design for CTDOT and municipalities, and coordination with state and local agencies.

Applicants should have a BSCE with 10–15+ years of experience, PE license, and proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, VISSIM, and related tools. The position offers comprehensive benefits and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• BSCE degree or equivalent.
• PE license required; PTOE preferred.
• Experience with CTDOT/CT Municipalities; NYCDOT/MASSDOT experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, AutoTurn.
• Familiarity with HCS, VISSIM, Synchro, SimTraffic.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Perform traffic engineering studies and designs.
• Traffic signal design for CTDOT and municipalities, including equipment and timings.
• Review contractor submittals during traffic signal construction.
• Transportation engineering and traffic planning studies.
• Traffic simulations using VISSIM, Synchro, and SimTraffic; analyze operations.
• Write and review traffic impact studies and reports.
• Coordinate with DOT and local agencies; support environmental studies and roadway design elements.
• Assist in public information meetings and proposals.
