Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer/Project Manager for the Gulf Region in Alabama. The role supports multiple Birmingham, Huntsville, Mobile, Montgomery, or Tuscaloosa locations and requires relocation if out of state.

A minimum of 5 years in traffic engineering or transportation planning is required, along with an Alabama PE license. Your work will encompass traffic operations analysis, signal design and timing, corridor studies, modeling, TMPs, and coordination with

Qualifications

• Requires B.S./M.S. in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 5+ years in traffic engineering or transportation planning with growth in responsibilities.
• Alabama PE License is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine assignments applying basic engineering principles.
• Conduct traffic operations analysis, signal design, timing development, corridor planning, safety studies, and modeling.
• Prepare TMPs, signing, pavement marking plans and signal timing sheets.
• Assist in developing layout drawings, reports, and road design plans.
• Attend project meetings and participate in budgets and business development.
