Job summary

VSV WINS INC in San Diego, CA seeks an experienced Traffic Engineer to lead our Traffic Division on meaningful projects throughout Southern California. You will supervise design teams, oversee schedules and budgets, and maintain client relationships with public agencies and municipalities.

The ideal candidate will have a BSCE, CA PE in Civil/Traffic, and 4–10 years of traffic engineering experience, including management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) required.
• Active California Professional Engineer (PE) Registration in Civil or Traffic Engineering required.
• Minimum 4 5 years of traffic engineering experience or equivalent industry experience of 9 10 years.
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing or supervising traffic engineering teams.
• Experience overseeing project schedules, budgets, contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with clients, public agencies, and internal teams.
• Recent Southern California experience required, preferably within San Diego County.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage traffic engineering design teams.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, scopes of work, and deliverables.
• Coordinate with clients, public agencies, and internal project teams.
• Prepare and review traffic engineering plans, studies, and technical reports.
• Manage traffic impact analyses and transportation planning projects.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to traffic designers, CAD technicians, and engineering staff.
• Support project development, proposal preparation, and client relationship management.
• Ensure project compliance with applicable transportation standards and regulations.
