Job summary

HonorVet Technologies is seeking a Principal Traffic Engineer for the San Diego office to lead traffic engineering and planning projects, supervise teams, and manage schedules and budgets. This role focuses on client relations with public agencies and progress toward ownership opportunities.

The position requires a Civil Engineering degree and California PE/Traffic Engineer registration, with extensive Southern California experience and strong leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• California PE/Traffic Engineer registration.
• 7+ years in traffic engineering/planning, or equivalent 12 years industry experience.
• 5+ years in management overseeing designers, planners, CAD drafters, technicians.
• Experience in Southern California traffic engineering, preferably San Diego County.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage traffic engineering and planning projects across Southern California, especially San Diego County.
• Supervise traffic designers, planners, CAD drafters, and technicians with technical direction and mentorship.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, public agencies, and internal teams.
• Prepare Traffic Impact Analyses, traffic studies, and engineering plans.
