Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Lead Professional, Traffic Engineer in Las Vegas, NV. You will lead a district traffic team, applying advanced analysis and modeling to improve safety and mobility across projects for local, state, and regional clients.

The role emphasizes staff development, client relationships, and delivering high-quality traffic solutions using tools like Vissim, Synchro/SimTraffic, and HCS. Strong leadership, communication, and technical writing are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• 7 to 10 years of relevant post education experience in engineering and prior traffic design experience.
• Engineer license required.
• Highly proficient with traffic engineering principles, practices, process, capacity and operational analysis.
• Strong self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients, regulators, project managers, and employees at all levels.
• Proven ability to lead teams and ensure QA/QC compliance.
• Proficient with traffic engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Develop transportation solutions with the district’s traffic, transit, and planning teams.
• Use cutting-edge analysis, modeling, and simulation techniques to evaluate traffic operations and improve safety, access, and mobility.
• Perform traffic operation analyses and travel demand forecasting for various projects.
• Prepare tables, figures, and technical reports/presentations for communities, public agencies, and decision-makers.
• Manage tasks, scope, schedule, and budget; oversee cross-functional teams.
