Job summary

Infra Tech Engineering, LLC seeks a Senior Traffic Engineer to manage major transportation projects in New York and New Jersey. The ideal candidate will excel in a team setting, holding a Civil Engineering degree with a Master’s in Traffic Engineering preferred and over four years of experience in signal design, plan production, and traffic element coordination including ITS and lighting.

Proficiency in MicroStation and familiarity with NYSDOT, PANYNJ, MUTCD, and AASHTO standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Master’s degree in traffic engineering is advantageous.
• PE license in NY or ability to obtain within one year is preferred.
• Over four years of experience in traffic/ ITS design, highway geometric design, and traffic signal design.

Responsibilities

• Conduct traffic engineering design tasks including traffic signal design, signing, striping, and ITS elements.
• Prepare Transportation Management Plans and Traffic Control Plans.
• Coordinate roadwork plan design for highway and interchange projects using Micro Station.
• Perform intersection and roadway capacity analyses with standard software.
• Assist in Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) and cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct various trafficengineering design tasks, such as traffic signal design, traffic signing,striping, pavement marking plans, intersection and highway lighting,electrical plans, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) design.
• Prepare traffic detours, TransportationManagement Plans, and Traffic Control Plans.
• Coordinate the design anddevelopment of roadwork plans for highway, roadway, interchange, anddrainage projects using Micro Station.
• Perform intersection and roadwaycapacity analyses using HCM and HCS, Synchro, and SimTraffic software.
• Assist in preparing Plans,Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E), including construction costestimates.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science or Bachelorof Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• A Master’s degree in trafficengineering is advantageous.
• Experience working in New Yorkwith NYSDOT is preferred.
• Over four years of experience inTraffic/ITS design, highway geometric design, and traffic signal design,or a related engineering field.
• Professional Engineer (PE)license in NY or the ability to obtain it within one year of hiring ispreferred.
• Professional Traffic OperationsEngineer (PTOE) is preferred.
• Experience in design, planproduction, and coordination of traffic elements, including signing,striping, signalization is required, along with ITS and roadway lightingexperience is preferred.
• Proficiency in MicroStation andBentley In-roads is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with NYSDOT andPANYNJ standards and MUTCD and AASHTO guidelines is advantageous.
