Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) seeks an experienced Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation Planning & Operations team in Bedford, NH. You will collaborate with transportation planners and engineers on diverse projects for public, private, and institutional clients in a dynamic setting.

The role requires 5–8 years of transportation experience and a P.E. license or progress toward licensure within six months.

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering required.
5–8 years of professional transportation engineering and/or planning experience.
P.E. licensure required or ability to obtain within 6 months.
Synchro/SimTraffic and HCS experience required.
Familiarity with national/local standards including AASHTO, MUTCD, and ITE guidance.

Responsibilities

Work within a team of professionals to develop traffic and transportation planning, safety, and engineering solutions for multimodal projects.
Conduct traffic and safety engineering analysis, including operations-focused studies.
Provide peer review of analyses submitted to municipalities to ensure accuracy and consistency with standards.
Research and interpret transportation data, community statistics, and demographics.
Manage transportation projects, including intersection improvements and multimodal facilities.
Prepare planning documents, technical memos, and reports; develop scopes of work and track budgets.
