Job summary

Stanley Consultants is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to support Traffic Engineering and Safety practices, primarily based in our Des Moines office. Strong consideration for candidates in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, or Muscatine is noted.

Responsibilities include leading traffic and safety projects, designing signal and roadway plans, and mentoring junior engineers. Requires 8–10 years in related fields and an Iowa PE license.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering; M.S. in Civil Engineering a plus.
• 8–10 years in traffic engineering, planning, safety, or ITS.
• Iowa PE license is required.
• Familiarity with MUTCD and local standards.
• Proficiency with traffic analysis software; VISSIM a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager/Lead on traffic and safety projects.
• Design traffic signals, roadway lighting, and ITS infrastructure plans.
• Conduct traffic impact and safety analyses; supporting design reviews.
