Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) seeks a full-time Senior Traffic Engineer for our Albany Office. This role focuses on traffic studies, design, and pedestrian safety across public and private projects, with potential growth to lead the traffic group.

The ideal candidate will have a PE license, 8+ years in traffic engineering, and strong client and agency communication skills to collaborate with public hearings and regulatory bodies. GPI offers a broad range of transportation services.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in traffic engineering with both private and public clients.
• Experience with project management.
• Communication skills for public hearings and working with public agencies.
• A PE license is required
• PTOE Certification is a plus
• Knowledge of traffic analysis software applications (Synchro/SimTraffic and HCS)

Responsibilities

• Performing technical traffic analyses and preparing technical studies.
• Leading challenging and varying projects
• Mentoring junior staff
• Communicating with clients and local and state agencies and attending public hearings
• Managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets
• Assisting with writing contracts and reviewing invoices
• Ensuring the technical accuracy, standard engineering practices, and inclusion of appropriate documentation on various project plans, reports, and design documents
